These easy air fryer roasted potatoes are a delicious side dish and another recipe to add to your air fryer recipes collection. Just baby potatoes, olive oil, and my easy go-to potato seasoning – an all-purpose steak seasoning, and you’ll have a side dish ready for dinner.
Roasted potatoes are probably on our weekly dinner menu just about every week. They’re just an easy go-to side dish. I used to always oven bake my potatoes, but with the ease of an air fryer, I tend to just pop them in there for a quick 20 minutes and let my oven focus on the rest of the dinner.
I’ve found that an all-purpose steak seasoning makes a great seasoning for roasted potatoes, but of course, play with your spice selection and try different variations. I like steak seasoning because it’s a great all-around seasoning with pepper, salt, and a few extra flavors.
Ingredients needed
For these easy air fryer roasted potatoes, you’ll need three simple ingredients:
- 24 oz. baby potatoes

- 1 Tbsp. steak seasoning
How to make air fryer roasted potatoes
- Place potatoes in a large bowl and add the olive oil and steak seasoning. Stir to fully coat with the oil and seasoning.
- Transfer the potatoes to the air fryer basket, making sure you scrape out all of the oil and seasoning. (I use a rubber spatula for this part.)
- Roast in the air fryer at 400 degrees F. for 20 minutes or until crispy.
- Serve immediately.
Recipe FAQs
Below are commonly asked questions for this recipe, as well as alternative cooking methods, if applicable.
Can you put raw potatoes in an air fryer?
Yes, you can cook raw potatoes in the air fryer. You can either keep them whole, like in this recipe, or slice them to extra crispiness. If the potatoes are not already oiled, you’ll want to spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil prior.
Are air fried potatoes healthy?
Air fried foods could be considered healthier than their deep fried counterparts. Air fried foods require less oil than traditional deep fried foods which means less calories. But, as always, we encourage you to review the nutritional information in the recipe card below and decide what’s best for you.
What if I don’t have an air fryer?
If you do not have an air fryer, I would suggest oven baking the potatoes. Follow the same directions as above in preparing the potatoes, then spread them onto a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or until soft.
Recipe Variations
- Your baby potatoes do not have to be the rainbow medley variety. Any baby potatoes will work.
- If you don’t have baby potatoes, you can cut larger potatoes into smaller chunks and cook following the same directions.
