Mom will absolutely LOVE this Mother’s Day Charcuterie Board! Using 3-dimensional paper letterboxes, this charcuterie board idea is a fun twist that’s sure to be a show stopper!
If there’s one thing moms would love for Mother’s Day it’s food, especially if it means she doesn’t have to cook. These cute letter charcuterie boxes will make mom feel extra special this year.
I’ve also included a special Mother’s Day printable wine bottle label down below that would be perfect!
Ingredients Needed
- One package of sliced salami
- One package of sliced prosciutto
- 3 baby brie rounds
- 1-2 additional types of cheese
- Choose 2-3 seasonal fruits – mix fresh and dried
- Round crackers
- 1-2 round cookies or sweets
- Roasted almonds
- Fresh flowers and herbs (rosemary or mint)
- Honey
- Letterboxes
- Small plastic sauce cup
How to make a Mother’s Day Charcuterie Board
- Think of your letterboxes as a blank canvas and let your creativity flow. I recommend starting with the larger items – meats, cheese, and crackers, cup for honey, and then fill in from there. (If you’re using paper letters that are not open, I’ve included instructions in the notes below on how to cut the top off.)
- Fold the meat so that it fits into the box and place them evenly throughout the letterboxes. Then, slice the cheese so that they’ll fit into the letterboxes and place into the letterboxes.
- Add the crackers to the box, and the baby brie rounds.
- Once you have your meat, cheese, and crackers evenly spread out between the three letters, start filling in with fruits, nuts, and sweets.
- Lastly, garnish the boxes with tiny fresh flowers to fill in any visible gaps.
- Right before serving, fill the sauce cup with honey and serve!
Recipe FAQs and Notes
Where can I find paper mâché letterboxes?
You can find paper mâché letterboxes on Amazon, or you can also find paper mâché letters as well. You can also find them at your local craft stores such as Michaels, JoAnn, or Hobby Lobby.
What if I can only find paper mâché letters?
If you can only find the full letters that are not open boxes, you can simply cut off the top to make an open letterbox. I actually did this with my boxes. Carefully use a box cutter knife or craft knife to cut around the top of the letter to create an open letterbox.
How early can I prepare my Mother’s Day Charcuterie Board?
Because you are filling a paper box, I would not fill your letterbox until just before serving. However, you can prepare the filling by slicing any cheese and prepping any meats the day before and then refrigerate in an air-tight container until ready to assemble.
Mother’s Day Mimosas!
Make mom feel extra special by pairing a Mimosa Board with your Mother’s Day charcuterie board, and add a special touch with these custom Mother’s Day bottle labels!
