How to build an Easter charcuterie board
To build an Easter charcuterie board, the key is to capture the colors and feelings of spring. This means fresh vegetables, and bright colors. Below is a list of what I used in this holiday graze board, but feel free to mix in what you prefer.
- Choose 1-2 types of meat. I used salami and prosciutto-wrapped cheese sticks
- Choose 2 additional kinds of cheese – to capture that spring feeling, choose cheese blends that incorporate fruits like a blueberry cheddar or apricot stilton
- Choose 2 seasonal fruits – to capture that spring feeling, stick with fresh fruits
- Choose 2 seasonal vegetables – for Easter I used fresh carrots and broccolini to capture that spring green feeling
- Choose 1-2 types of spreads – mix sweet and savory. I used a both sweet and savory hummus
- Choose 1-2 types of crackers
- Choose 1-2 extras to fill in and garnish your board – Easter candy, macarons, chocolate, nuts, fresh herbs, flowers, Easter decor
How much meat and cheese per person?
An easy rule of thumb to follow is to allow
- 3-4 slices of meat per person in a variety of flavors and textures.
- 1-2 ounces of cheese per person in a variety of flavors and textures.
How to cut cheese for a charcuterie board
For this charcuterie board, I chose to leave the triangle of Stilton whole, and crumble off the ends. Then, I cut the other cheese into small squares. There’s no right or wrong way to cut cheese for your board. Try slicing at different angles or shapes, and most importantly, have fun!
How to fold meat on a Charcuterie Board
Again, there’s no right or wrong way to fold the meat on a charcuterie board. But, if you want to really impress your guests with this super easy trick, you can create salami roses!
How to make salami roses
- You’ll need four thin slices of salami for each rose.
- Fold each of the salami slices in half.
- Next, lay one folded salami down, then lay another on top of it, covering one half. Continue this until you have a ‘train’ of salami. Then, carefully roll up and place onto your board standing up. Secure with a toothpick, if needed.
Don’t forget to add in the special touches for an Easter board, like colorful pastel macarons!
Recipe FAQs and Notes
How big should a charcuterie board be?
This will depend on how many people you are serving. If you’re serving 2-4 people, a small 12-14 inch round board would be a sufficient size. If you’re serving a larger group, you’ll want to go with a larger round board or large paddle-style board.
How early can you prepare a charcuterie board?
You can slice the cheese and any fruits the night before and refrigerate them in an air-tight container overnight. You can also fold any meats and place them into a glass storage container to refrigerate overnight.

Ingredients

Instructions
- Start by selecting the right board for your spread. You can use large cutting boards, slate boards, or large marble or ceramic platters.
- Think of your board as a blank canvas and let your creativity flow. I recommend starting with the larger items and then filling in from there. Start by adding any small bowls you're going to use for spreads, placing them on opposite ends of the board.
- Next, add your cheese and place them opposite from one another on the board.
- Place your crackers onto the board close to the cheese.
- Next, place your veggies near the savory dip and the fruit near the sweet dip.
- Next, make your salami roses and tuck them in close to the other items on the board. This not only helps keep their folded shape but also allows your guests to grab meat and cheese together easily.
- Fill in any remaining gaps with any extras like Easter candy, pastel macarons, or Easter decor.
- Just before serving, add the spreads to the bowls.
- Serve and enjoy!
