Autumn is just around the corner, and I’m craving all the fall foods, like this homemade cinnamon and raisin granola. Full of oats, seeds, and fall-inspired flavors like maple and cardamom, it’s a delicious homemade nut-free granola. Perfect for topping yogurt, chia parfaits, or just to eat alone as an afternoon snack.

First things first, this is a nut-free granola. If you’ve followed my recipes for a while, you’ll know that I have a severe nut allergy. This means that most traditional granola is a big nada for me, so I started making my own a few years ago. With granola, you can get as creative as you want when it comes to what all goes into your granola. This cinnamon and raisin granola is simplistic, yet perfect for topping your favorite yogurt or building a delicious parfait.

Ingredients needed:

  • 4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup raw pumpkin seeds
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil
  • 2 tsp cardamom
  • 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

How to make cinnamon raisin granola recipe

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients and stir to combine. Use your hands if needed to get all of the ingredients mixed well together.
  3. Transfer the granola mixture to a baking sheet and spread out until the entire pan is covered.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Let fully cool, then store in an airtight container.

Recipe FAQs

How long does homemade granola last?

Store the homemade cinnamon and raisin granola in an air tight container, in a dry spot and it will last for about six months.

How do you make granola crunchy again?

Over time, the granola may become soft. To give the homemade granola a nice crunch again, just place it back onto a baking sheet and roast in the oven again at the original cooking temperature for about 15 minutes.

Can I substitute quick oats for rolled oats in the homemade granola?

Rolled oats will give you the best results with your homemade granola. You could use quick oats, however, do not use steel cut oats.

Recipe Variations

You can get creative with making homemade granola. In addition to the oats, add in any additional items like seeds, nuts (not for me), or dried fruits, and spices.
