Guinness Beer Cheese Dip

This Guinness beer cheese dip is a rich and stout cheese dip that’s creamy and delicious. Pair it with soft pretzels, vegetables, crackers, or bread. It’s a crowd-pleasing party appetizer!

This Guinness beer cheese dip is one of the best party appetizers for almost any occasion. It’s great served on a soft pretzel snack board or served as a heavy appetizer.

Ingredients needed

  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 cup Guinness stout
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp. brown mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese

How to make Guinness Beer Cheese Dip

  1. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Then, whisk in the flour.
  2. Add the Guinness beer, whisking until smooth.
  3. Whisk in the milk and let cook until it thickens, whisking continually.
  4. Add in the mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper and whisk to combine.
  5. Lastly, add in the shredded cheese and stir until fully melted.
  6. Remove from heat and serve.

This cheese dip will thicken as it sits. To keep it creamy or to revive it, add a bit of Guinness or milk and stir to loosen up the thickness.
